The Firehouse Gallery in Waimea presents “Quilt & Fiber Exhibition,” with works by area artisans through June 29. More than 30 traditional and contemporary, functional and decorative pieces will be displayed. Quilts, including patchwork and Hawaiian style applique, plus original designs with a contemporary style will be on display and available for sale. This year’s show will include woven works from members of the Hawaii Island Chapter of the Hawaii Handweavers Hui.

A complimentary public reception for this show is slated from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the gallery.

Waimea Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts on Hawaii Island. The gallery, located at 67-1202 Mamalahoa Highway, is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
